Navigating Palworld solo can be challenging, so why not bring along some friends for the ride? Palworld's multiplayer feature allows you to team up with either four or 32 players, depending on your platform, for an enhanced gaming experience. However, the game doesn't explicitly guide you on how to set this up. Our comprehensive Palworld multiplayer guide will walk you through the process, whether you're on Steam, PS5, Xbox, or Windows, and highlight the co-op features available on each platform.

If you're looking to play Palworld with friends, you have two main options. You can either create your own world and invite friends to join you, or you can join a friend's world using an invitation code. To create a multiplayer world, simply navigate to the world selection screen, choose “create a new world,” and toggle the “multiplayer” setting to on. This setting is off by default, so remember to switch it on each time you create a new world for co-op play. After that, just start the game as usual.

Before starting a session, you'll need to decide whether you want to play solo or with friends, as the settings you choose at the beginning will apply throughout the session. If you start a single-player world and later decide to switch to multiplayer, you'll need to highlight your world and select “Change world settings” before beginning a session. Alternatively, you can input an invitation code on the title screen to join a friend's world.

On platforms like Xbox, PS5, or Windows, you can play with up to three other players. However, Palworld on Steam offers the option to create dedicated servers that can host up to 32 players. If you want to join a friend's world using an invitation code, your friend will need to send it to you outside the game. You can find your own invitation code in the options menu, but only if you're playing in a world with multiplayer enabled. Click the eye icon to reveal the code and share it with your friends. Note that the code changes every time you start a session, so you'll need to repeat this process each time you play together.

In Palworld co-op, you can build, explore, battle creatures, and share resources with your friends. However, there's currently no Palworld PvP, so you can't challenge each other to battles. As of the game's early access launch on January 19, 2024, Palworld supports crossplay between Xbox Series X|S and PC via Windows. Developer Pocketpair plans to add full crossplay support between the Xbox ecosystem and Steam at some point, although a specific launch date has not been announced.
