Matthew Hudson-Smith competed in the 400 metres final, aiming to become the first British Olympic gold medalist in the event in a century. New Zealand's Lisa Carrington, renowned as the 'GOAT in the boat', initiated her pursuit for an individual kayak sprint gold at the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium. Armenia's Artur Aleksanyan added a silver to his collection of Olympic medals in the men's Greco-Roman 97kg category. Australia's Keegan Palmer achieved a historic back-to-back gold in Park skateboarding at Place de la Concorde. Ukraine's Oleksandr Khyzhniak and France's Sofiane Oumiha advanced in boxing finals, while Taiwan's Lin Yu-ting faced a featherweight semi-final. Speed climbing made its Olympic debut with the women's final, won by China's Lijuan Deng. France's Lebrun brothers led the national team against Brazil in the men's table tennis quarter-finals. Thailand's Panipak Wongpattanakit secured another medal in taekwondo, following her gold in Tokyo, and 18-year-old Omar Ismail became the first Palestinian to compete in taekwondo at the Olympics.
