The Paris Olympics' opening ceremony commenced on Friday, featuring a groundbreaking and audacious spectacle where up to 7,000 athletes marched along the River Seine, passing by the iconic landmarks of the French capital.

This marks the first occasion in Olympic history where the opening ceremony is held outside the primary stadium. Approximately 300,000 spectators witnessed the event live from specially constructed stands and along the riverbanks, with an additional 200,000 viewing from elevated balconies and apartments.
