Pep Guardiola has extended his contract as Manchester City manager for an additional two seasons. The 53-year-old, whose contract was set to expire on 1 July next year, has now agreed to a new two-year deal. This is a significant boost for City, who are awaiting the outcome of their case involving 115 alleged breaches of Premier League rules, which they vehemently deny.

Guardiola expressed his sentiments on the club's website: “Manchester City holds a special place in my heart. This marks my ninth season here; we've shared countless unforgettable moments. I have a profound affection for this football club.

That is why I am thrilled to commit for another two seasons. I am grateful to everyone for their continued trust and support – the owner, the chairman Khaldoon [al-Mubarak], Ferran [Soriano], Txiki [Begiristain], the players, and of course, the fans… everyone associated with Manchester City. It has always been an honor, a pleasure, and a privilege to be part of this team.”

More details to come.
