American golfer Peter Uihlein delivered an extraordinary performance, setting a course record with a 10-under-par 61, which propelled him to the lead at the halfway point of the 72-hole $2 million International Series England. This prestigious event is being held at the Foxhills Club & Resort in Surrey, as part of the Asian Tour. Uihlein's remarkable round, which included an eagle, nine birdies, and one bogey, positions him strongly for the final two rounds. His score was a staggering 10 strokes better than his initial round, placing him at 10-under.

Uihlein leads by a single shot over Belgium's Thomas Pieters, his teammate on the RangeGoats GC team in the LIV Golf League, who also shared the first-round lead. Pieters scored a 69, while the unexpected contender, Robert Dinwiddie from England, posted a 66 on the Longcross course. American Caleb Surratt is trailing by just one shot after scoring a 66, with England's Richard Bland and India's Karandeep Kochhar both a stroke behind following scores of 69 and 67, respectively.

Pieters' last win was at the 2022 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship. He nearly secured his seventh DP World Tour victory earlier this season but had to settle for a tie for second at the Soudal Open. John Catlin, the current leader in the Asian Tour merit list and International Series Rankings, scored a 72 and is two under for the tournament. Meanwhile, 52-year-old Jeev Milkha Singh, a recipient of the Dubai Golden Visa, impressed with a second-round 68, bringing him to five-under-par and tying him for ninth place.

Singh's round included six birdies and three bogeys, showcasing his accuracy with nine fairways hit and 14 greens in regulation on the challenging, tree-lined course. He expressed confidence in the windy conditions and his preparation for the weekend. Dubai-based Anirban Lahiri managed to make the cut with rounds of 72 and 70, securing his spot right on the cut line at level par 72. However, Dubai-born Rayhan Thomas, 24, missed his first professional cut after rounds of 73 and 70, as did fellow Indian golfer Gaganjeet Bhullar.
