Pickleball, acknowledged as the world's fastest growing sport, has unveiled the new Pickleball World Rankings, the PWR World Series, and the PWR World Tour. The GCC region has been selected to host the inaugural PWR World Series in March 2025. PWR aims to consolidate regional organizations under a single framework to improve sports management and ensure long-term sustainability. The announcement was jointly made by PWR, The Times Group, representatives from international Pickleball associations, and several top players, including the APP Tour's women's world number one, Megan Fudge DeHeart.
"Pickleball, which started in the modest backyards of America in the 1960s, has evolved into one of the most thrilling sports played by millions worldwide," stated Pranav Kohli, CEO and Founder of PWR. "It is a great privilege to be involved in the establishment of the Pickleball World Rankings, PWR World Series, and PWR World Tour. We are thrilled to lead the advancement of Pickleball both on and off the court." PWR plans to allocate $15 million in prize money for the PWR World Tour and $1.5 million for the GCC event in the PWR World Series, marking the highest prize pool in the sport's history. Kohli expressed his hope that current stars and future champions from the United States and across the globe can climb the rankings and achieve their full potential, all while being watched by millions worldwide.
