A plane carrying 62 individuals crashed in Vinhedo, Brazil, as reported by local TV station GloboNews on Friday.

The ATR-72 aircraft, operated by Voepass Linhas Aéreas, was traveling from Cascavel, Parana, to Guarulhos, Sao Paulo, according to G1, which cited Voepass.

Sao Paulo's state fire brigade confirmed via social media the crash in Vinhedo and dispatched seven rescue teams to the accident site.

Social media footage depicted the plane descending into a group of trees, accompanied by a substantial column of black smoke.
