During the recent State of Play event, PlayStation revealed several new controllers and PS5 console covers. Among the highlights was the announcement of a limited-edition Fortnite DualSense controller, set to release on November 7. This controller features a blue color scheme adorned with graffiti-style decals inspired by the game. Additionally, PlayStation introduced the Chroma Collection, which includes three DualSense controllers and matching console covers with a flashy chrome finish.

The Fortnite controller stands out with its chaotic design, contrasting sharply with the recently released Astro Bot controller, which is currently sold out. As a limited-edition item, the Fortnite DualSense is expected to sell quickly once preorders open on October 3. Despite its themed design, the controller retains all standard DualSense features, such as haptic feedback, dynamic triggers, touchpad, and gyro controls. PlayStation recently increased the price of DualSense controllers by $5, and the Fortnite edition now lists for $85. In comparison, the Astro Bot controller, which was available for preorder before the price hike, still costs $80.

For those unable to secure the Fortnite DualSense, third-party wireless gamepads with official Fortnite themes are available for Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Among these, the Peely-themed wireless Switch controller by PowerA is the most subdued, despite its bright yellow design. It connects via Bluetooth and includes remappable back buttons. Released earlier this year for $65, it comes with a code for the Prickly Axe skin.

Xbox and PC users can preorder PowerA's pro-style Fortnite controller for $100, set to release on October 1. This limited-edition controller offers a range of customizable features, including Hall Effect sticks and triggers, four remappable back buttons, trigger locks, and custom profiles. It also includes the Tooth Pickaxe skin. For a more budget-friendly option, the Fortnite Edition OPS V1 controller is available for $55. This wireless controller for PC and mobile features Hall Effect sticks and triggers, four remappable back buttons, and three-way trigger locks. It can connect via 2.4GHz or Bluetooth and is currently available on Amazon, bundled with the Assault Bomber glider skin.

PlayStation's new Chroma Collection will be available for preorder starting October 3 at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET. The collection includes three iridescent color options: Chroma Pearl, Chroma Indigo, and Chroma Teal. Chroma controllers will retail for $80, while console covers for the PS5 Slim will cost $65 each. Chroma Pearl and Indigo accessories will release on November 7, with Chroma Teal following on January 23, 2025.

November promises to be a busy month for PlayStation, with the PS5 Pro set to launch on November 7. Preorders for the PS5 Pro begin on September 26 on PlayStation Direct and October 10 at major retailers. Two weeks after the PS5 Pro's launch, PlayStation's 30th Anniversary Collection will release limited-edition consoles and controllers, likely selling out quickly upon launch on November 21.

For those seeking PS5 controller recommendations beyond the DualSense, our list of the best PS5 controllers includes the modular Victrix Pro BFG, now available in a Tekken edition and soon to be released with a Call of Duty-themed design. The Call of Duty Field Op edition can be preordered on Amazon ahead of its October 25 launch.
