Just a bit over a week since its launch, Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket has achieved a significant milestone: over 30 million downloads. It has also secured the top spot as the No. 1 free game on both the App Store and Google Play Store, surpassing other popular mobile games like Roblox and Monopoly Go.
On X, the official Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket account shared the impressive download figure and expressed gratitude to players for their support. The account also posed an intriguing question: "How many packs have been opened so far?"
Speaking of opening packs, a wild theory has been circulating about how to potentially increase the chances of getting rare cards. The idea suggests that players should carefully inspect the packaging of their daily free packs for any imperfections, such as a bent corner, which might indicate a higher likelihood of receiving a rare card. However, the internet's response to this strategy has been mixed, with varying reports on its effectiveness.
Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket was launched on October 30, following its announcement in February during Pokemon Day. The game is designed to simplify the Trading Card Game experience on smartphones, offering features like auto-building assistance and rental decks.
Pokemon's success isn't limited to smartphones. Earlier this week, Nintendo revealed that sales of Pokemon games on the Switch have surpassed 99 million copies. The next big release in the franchise, Pokemon Legends Z-A, is slated for 2025.
