A driver encountered an unexpected malfunction with his vehicle's cruise control while navigating Dubai's busiest highway, ultimately requiring rescue by police patrols. The driver, who was traveling on Sheikh Zayed Road towards Abu Dhabi, dialed the emergency number 999 after his vehicle ceased to respond. Police patrols swiftly arrived on the scene, reaching the driver's location within minutes.
Upon arrival, the traffic patrols located the vehicle beyond the Expo Bridge. Recognizing the significant risk posed by the vehicle on the high-speed roadway, the patrols immediately cordoned off the area and set up warning signs for other drivers. They then proceeded to calm the visibly distressed driver. One patrol positioned itself in front of the vehicle and began slowing it down gradually, while additional patrols secured the lane behind.
