President Ferdinand Marcos Jr has directed the acceleration of e-visa processing, typically requiring several days, for Indian tourists planning to visit the Philippines. However, certain Indian nationals are exempt from personal appearances at embassies and can enter the country without a visa.
The Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) states that Indian tourists may be granted visa-free entry for up to 14 days if they hold valid or unexpired visas from the United States, Japan, Australia, Canada, Schengen countries, Singapore, or the UK, or a permanent residence permit from these states. Additional requirements include the possibility of extending the 14-day visa-free stay by an additional 7 days, allowing a maximum stay of 21 days. However, this tourist visa is non-convertible to other visa categories, restricting the purpose of the visit strictly to tourism. Business travelers must obtain appropriate visas.
For stays exceeding 14 days, Indians may apply for a visa at the Philippine Consulate General, Embassy, or any Foreign Service Post in countries requiring entry visas for Indians. In the UAE, residents with visas from Dubai and the Northern Emirates should apply at the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai, while those with visas from Abu Dhabi and Al Ain should apply at the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi. Philippine missions indicate that it takes at least 8 working days from the day of personal appearance/interview to obtain the visa. This timeframe also applies to visa applicants from Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Egypt, East Timor, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestine, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Yemen, and Somalia.
