President Sheikh Mohamed convened today with Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, during his official visit to the UAE. The discussions centered on enhancing bilateral cooperation to foster the mutual aspirations of both nations for progress and prosperity. The meeting took place at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi, where Sheikh Mohamed extended a warm welcome to the Vietnamese Prime Minister, expressing optimism that the visit would bolster UAE-Vietnam relations to the advantage of both nations.
Also in attendance was Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court. The UAE President and Vietnamese Prime Minister also discussed various regional and international matters of mutual interest, reaffirming their commitment to peace and stability through diplomatic means and peaceful initiatives.
Sheikh Mohamed highlighted the UAE's enduring dedication to fortifying its ties with Vietnam since diplomatic relations were established in 1993, aiming to serve mutual interests and fulfill the developmental and prosperous aspirations of their peoples. He also pointed out the steady escalation in UAE-Vietnam economic and trade relations, with non-oil trade reaching US$12.12 billion last year, reflecting a 38.7 percent surge compared to 2022. The UAE President further underscored the UAE's commitment as a Sectoral Dialogue Partner with ASEAN to augmenting its economic and trade collaborations with Vietnam, the UAE's foremost non-oil trading partner within ASEAN.
Pham Minh Chinh conveyed Vietnam's eagerness to reinforce cooperation with the UAE and discover fresh prospects for economic and trade partnerships that align with their shared interests and meet their peoples' future aspirations. He also expressed gratitude for the hospitable reception extended to him and his delegation during the visit. The Vietnamese Prime Minister penned a message in the Qasr Al Watan VIP guestbook, expressing his delight at visiting the UAE and his hopes for sustained advancement and growth in UAE-Vietnam relations. A luncheon was hosted in honor of the Vietnamese Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation, attended by several ministers and senior officials from both nations.
