Project Polaris, the codename for the upcoming Witcher game, has reached a significant milestone: It is now officially in full production. CD Projekt made this announcement on November 26, as part of their broader earnings briefing. Game director Sebastian Kalemba stated that the game, often referred to as The Witcher 4, has "transitioned into the full-scale production phase" after a period of pre-production. "With new challenges ahead, it's the dedication and talent of our team that gives me confidence we can create an extraordinary Witcher saga. The journey continues, and we invite you to stay tuned for what's next!", he added.

The majority of CD Projekt's development team, comprising 400 out of 650 total employees, are now focused on Polaris. This number has slightly decreased from 410 as of July 31, 2024, prior to the game entering full production. CD Projekt also has several other projects in development, including Orion (the next Cyberpunk game), which currently has 64 people working on it. Additionally, Sirius (a Witcher spin-off) has 32 people dedicated to it, while 15 staff members are working on Hadar, a new IP. The remaining team members are involved in "shared services" and other projects.

Details about The Witcher 4 remain scarce. Management had previously suggested, in 2022, that the game might release as early as 2025, though this timeline could have shifted. Regarding the narrative, Geralt will be present, but he won't be the central focus. Joint-CEO MichaƂ Nowakowski emphasized that The Witcher 4 aims to innovate and set itself apart from its predecessors, rather than being a mere rehash of The Witcher 3.

During the earnings report, CD Projekt also revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 has sold 30 million copies, with its Phantom Liberty expansion achieving 8 million sales.
