Authorities announced on Thursday that visitors and GCC citizens who have incurred traffic fines in Qatar may have their penalties reduced by 50 percent.
Qatar's Ministry of Interior (MoI) stated that this initiative would apply to violations recorded over the past three years. The discount is available until August 31, according to the authority. In addition to visiting motorists and GCC nationals, Qatar residents and citizens are also eligible for this initiative, the MoI said.
Qatar is approximately 600km away from the UAE by road. Driving from Dubai to Doha takes about 6 to 7 hours. The trip from Abu Dhabi is around 550km and can be completed in less than 6 hours.
