Netflix's latest hit series, "Nobody Wants This," has garnered over 26 million viewers since its September 26th release, but Rachel Bilson hasn't joined the crowd yet. Bilson, 43, shared with PEOPLE that although she hasn't watched the show, she's thrilled about its success. "I hear everyone loves it, and I couldn't be more excited because Kristen [Bell] and Adam [Brody] are both people I adore," she said about the romantic comedy series. "So, I'm genuinely excited for them."

Bilson and Brody, 44, were a real-life couple while portraying Summer Roberts and Seth Cohen on the teen drama "The O.C." which aired from 2003 to 2007. After their split in 2006, Bilson dated actor Hayden Christensen for ten years; they share a daughter, Briar, who is now 9. Bilson and Christensen parted ways in 2017, and she briefly dated actor and comedian Bill Hader. Brody, on the other hand, married "Gossip Girl" alum Leighton Meester in 2014, and they have two children. Despite not reuniting on-screen, the former couple has crossed paths over the years since their early 2000s breakup.

In 2019, Bilson and Brody ran into each other at JFK Airport in New York and took a selfie before both headed to California. In 2021, Brody appeared as a guest on Bilson's podcast, "Welcome to the OC, Bitches!" with former co-star Melinda Clarke. Despite the passage of over two decades since "The O.C." aired, Brody has regained his heartthrob status, earning the title of the "Adam Brody Renaissance." "I feel like it's always been there," Bilson told PEOPLE at a SimpliSafe launch event. "But if it is, it's well deserved."

Bilson expressed her hope that the show might spark a revival of romantic comedies. "I'm a huge rom-com fan, so I'd jump at the chance to be part of that renaissance because I'm such a movie nerd," she said. Viewers have been captivated by the chemistry between Bell (Joanne) and Brody (Noah, the "Hot Rabbi") on the show, particularly their steamy kiss. Brody mentioned on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" that the chemistry with Bell worked so well because they know each other. "There's some trust and familiarity," he said. Bell, 44, acknowledged during an eTalk interview that the show's chemistry was indeed hot.

The final episode of "Nobody Wants This" ended on a cliffhanger, but fans can rejoice as Netflix has renewed the series for a second season. The announcement was made at the Bloomberg Screentime conference in LA by Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria. "Creating 'Nobody Wants This' will always be a career highlight for me," said show creator Erin Foster, whose own love life inspired the series. Jenni Konner and Kaplan will join the show as executive producers and showrunners for Season 2, with Nora Silver also joining as an executive producer.

Foster told The Hollywood Reporter: "Kristen came into the room with Justine [Lupe, who plays Morgan] to hear some storylines we were working on. She says she hasn't gotten a reaction like this, literally, since 'Frozen.'" The 10-episode romantic comedy series is now streaming on Netflix.
