The third day of the rain-affected second Test match between India and Bangladesh was called off without any play taking place on Sunday.

Following Saturday's complete washout, a wet outfield at the Green Park Stadium resulted in another day's play being lost, leaving Bangladesh stranded on 107-3 after 35 overs.

Mominul Haque (40), who celebrated his 33rd birthday on Sunday, and Mushfiqur Rahim (six) will resume their innings when the game eventually restarts.

India secured a 280-run victory in the opening Test in Chennai, and a draw in Kanpur would ensure a record-extending 18th consecutive Test series win on home soil.

Leading the World Test Championship standings, India is aiming to qualify for the WTC final for the third time in a row.
