According to a recent report from the National Centre of Meteorology, rainfall is expected over the next few days. From October 6 to 9, the country will experience the influence of a "relatively cold air-mass in the upper levels." During this period, the UAE will be under the effect of "a surface low pressure accompanied by an extension of an upper air low pressure from the south and another upper air low pressure extension from the north," as stated by the weather department.
Here is a visual representation shared by the NCM:
What does this mean for the weather? As these pressure fields converge along with the presence of mountains towards the east and the cold air-mass at certain altitudes, convective clouds are likely to develop. This could result in rain falling over some eastern, northern, and southern areas. Rain is expected towards the east on Sunday; from Monday to Wednesday, heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning and thunder will affect certain parts of the country.
From Monday to Wednesday, horizontal visibility is also expected to decrease due to light to moderate winds, which may cause blowing dust. The sea conditions will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
