The incident occurred on Friday during his performance at Town Center Park in Hamden, Connecticut. His family confirmed his demise on Saturday morning, without specifying the cause. In their announcement, the family described Freeman as "a radiant soul, a beacon of light on the stage and in life," who was not only a "world-class performer" but also "a father, brother, uncle, and a friend." They further added, "He was the laughter in our lives, a constant source of support, unwavering strength, and courage." Fatman Scoop was globally recognized as the undisputed voice of the club.
