Drivers of heavy vehicles in Ras Al Khaimah can now apply for an assessment via the Ministry of Interior (MOI) app. Ras Al Khaimah Police announced on social media that the app's smart testing feature simplifies the process for heavy vehicle drivers to request a driving evaluation. The driver merely needs to access the service through the MOI app, and an inspector will be sent directly to the specified location to perform the test. The smart system will assess the driver's performance, and the results will be recorded in the internal systems. The app will inform the heavy vehicle operator of the outcome, indicating whether they passed or failed. If the operator fails, the app will detail the reasons, highlighting areas for improvement in their driving.

This initiative is designed to enhance the driving skills of heavy vehicle operators and increase operational efficiency. Ras Al Khaimah Police emphasized the launch to ensure ongoing improvements in inspection quality. The authorities aim to leverage advanced technology and smart applications to foster the development of police and traffic operations. In Dubai, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) initiated a pilot operation using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to automatically detect damage to roadways, as announced on July 9. Dubai has also been utilizing AI since last year to monitor and evaluate the performance of thousands of public utility vehicles and their drivers. The Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC), part of the RTA, reports that the smart system now covers 7,200 vehicles and 14,500 drivers.
