Dubai's Rayhan Thomas is set to compete in Stage 2 of the PGA Tour Qualifying School presented by Korn Ferry, which begins tomorrow (Tuesday) at the renowned Landings Golf & Athletic Club in Savannah, Georgia. The event will see Thomas face off at Deer Creek, a course known for its demanding layout that spans 7,185 yards with a par 72. Despite the wide fairways offering some leeway, the par 3 holes are particularly challenging, ensuring a rigorous test for all participants.

Thomas, who turned professional on June 1st, 2024, expressed his excitement about the upcoming event. "I am reasonably happy with my performance since turning pro and am confident I can maintain this momentum," he said. "My focus is on playing as much as possible until mid-December 2024, after which I'll return to Dubai to plan my 2025 schedule based on my results here and in future events."

After narrowly missing out on securing a DP World Tour card, Thomas remains optimistic and determined. "I missed out on my DP World Tour card by just a few shots over six rounds," he noted. "However, I have been assured that I will receive some status on the Challenge Tour as a result."

Deer Creek Golf Course, designed by the legendary U.S. golf architect Tom Fazio, opened in 1991. The course underwent modernization in 2009, with improvements including rebuilt greens, added chipping swales, and upgraded irrigation and cart paths. Thomas will tee off at 8.30 am (US local time) from tee 10, alongside John VanDerLaan and SM Lee.

Born in Dubai, Thomas represents Dubai Creek Resort and is a former member of the club where he began his junior golf lessons. He later trained at the CH3 Performance Institute at The Els Club, Dubai, founded by Justin Parsons, who now coaches several top PGA Tour players, including 2023 Open Championship winner Brian Harman.

The Second Stage of the PGA Tour Qualifying School at Savannah is one of five qualifying events held across various venues. The number of spots available for the Final Stage will be determined after the first round, based on player participation numbers at each venue. The Final Stage, held from December 12th to 15th, 2024, will take place in Florida, with rounds played over TPC Sawgrass Valley and Sawgrass CC, E/W in Ponte Vedra.
