Dubai's Rayhan Thomas narrowly missed securing his 2025 DP World Tour card by just two strokes at the Final Stage of the Qualifying School in Spain. Despite a strong final round of 68, Thomas ended with a six-round total of 16-under-par (412), tying for 30th place. His rounds of 67, 72, 71, 68, 66, and 68 showcased his consistent performance, though he fell short of his goal.
Thomas' journey continues as he prepares for Stage 2 of the PGA Tour Qualifying School, presented by Korn Ferry, in Savannah, Georgia, starting on November 19th. He began his final round tied in 23rd place but faced an early setback with a bogey on the first hole. Despite this, he rallied on the back nine with birdies on holes 11, 12, 16, and 18, finishing the round with a 32 and a final score of 68.
Over the 108-hole tournament, Thomas accumulated 23 birdies, 78 pars, and seven bogeys. Reflecting on the final day, he noted, “The front nine was pretty slow and I did not hit many good shots. The back nine was much better, I played solid and tidy.” He expressed his disappointment at missing the card by two shots but remains optimistic about his upcoming competition in Savannah.
Eduardo Molinari, a former Ryder Cup player, emerged as the winner of the Tour School, finishing 29 under par. Other notable achievements included Jean Bekirian becoming the first Armenian to secure a DP World Tour card.
