Dubai's Rayhan Thomas made a significant move at the $2 million International Series Thailand, carding a superb six-under-par 64 on 'Moving Day,' which placed him in a tie for second at the Thai Country Club event on the Asian Tour.

Leading the pack at 17-under-par is LIV Golf's Peter Uihlein (US), who shares a collegiate bond with Rayhan from Oklahoma State University. Uihlein's stellar rounds of 64, 62, and 67 have set a formidable standard as he aims to secure the championship.

Rayhan, who turned professional earlier this year, began with a round of 69 and followed it up with an exceptional 63 on Friday on the par 70 course. His performance included two nines of 32, highlighted by a birdie-eagle finish that bolstered his position. Currently, Rayhan is among five players tied for second, trailing the leader by three strokes.

"It was a good day today," Rayhan shared with Khaleej Times. "I bogeyed the first hole after hitting my tee shot into the fairway trap and having a bad lie, resulting in a duffed shot. Apart from that, I played really well, kept the ball in front of me, and hit some good putts. I'm in the final group on Sunday with my friend Peter, with whom I haven't played in a long time."

"Let's see if I can maintain my good form and maybe give myself a shot at winning this event and lifting the trophy after tomorrow's final round," Rayhan added. "These International Series events on the Asian Tour are truly significant."

Dubai Golden Visa recipient Gaganjeet Bhullar (Ind) shot rounds of 65, 66, and 68 to be 11 under par on 199, placing him in a tie for 17th.

Peter Uihlein, 35, now competes on LIV Golf after a diverse career spanning multiple tours, including the Challenge Tour, DP World Tour, Korn Ferry Tour, and PGA Tour. A former world number one amateur, he won the prestigious 2010 U.S. Amateur title and has five professional victories to his name: one on the Challenge Tour, two on the Korn Ferry Tour, and one on the DP World Tour.

Earlier this year, Uihlein added another notable win to his resume by capturing the International Series England title on the Asian Tour, where he led the field to victory by seven strokes. His highest Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) to date is 48.

The final round on Sunday will see Rayhan paired with Uihlein and Ahmed Baig (Pakistan) in the last group of the day, teeing off from the first tee at 10:16 a.m.
