Dubai's Rayhan Thomas showcased his prowess at the Thai Country Club, firing a remarkable seven-under-par 63 in the second round of the $2 million International Series Thailand on the Asian Tour. This impressive performance propelled him to a shared 14th place in the high-stakes event.
Following a solid first-round 69, the 24-year-old Thomas accelerated his game, significantly advancing up the leaderboard and positioning himself strongly for the weekend. His exceptional round highlighted the burgeoning confidence and skill of the young golfer on the international circuit.
"The course is enjoyable. I've visited Thailand several times and always have a great experience," an enthusiastic Rayhan shared with Khaleej Times. "The cuisine is also excellent. My mother is here this week, so the atmosphere off the course is just perfect—exactly what you want."
Regarding his plans for the remainder of the year, as he aims to participate in as many International Series tournaments as possible, Rayhan stated, "Absolutely—whenever I get the opportunity to play in these events, I'll be there. I'm currently undergoing Qualifying Schools on various Tours globally, so by December, I should have a clearer picture of my direction."
"I'll continue to work hard—just keep building on my confidence. The more I put myself in these positions, perform well, I have experiences to reflect on when I'm struggling and sources of confidence—so I'll keep doing this. Keep shooting 63s, and everything will be fine."
