The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a red alert for fog on Saturday, effective from 3:15 AM to 9:30 AM. This alert warns of a significant drop in horizontal visibility, which may further decrease at certain times in both inland and coastal regions.
In a recent post on X, Abu Dhabi Police urged drivers to exercise caution due to the reduced visibility caused by the fog. Motorists are advised to adhere to the changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards.
Additionally, the weather department has issued a yellow alert for rough seas and strong winds reaching up to 40 km/h, blowing in a northwesterly direction. The department noted that the sea will be rough, with waves potentially reaching 6 feet in the Arabian Gulf until 8 PM today. A yellow alert indicates the need for heightened vigilance during outdoor activities.
Overall, residents can expect a partly cloudy day, with clouds forming in the eastern areas that may develop into convective clouds by afternoon. While temperatures are expected to gradually decrease, humidity will rise during the night and early morning on Sunday, with a possibility of fog or mist forming in some inland areas.
Light to moderate winds, occasionally strengthening, are forecasted to blow over the sea. The sea conditions are expected to range from slight to moderate, with occasional rough patches in the Arabian Gulf and slight conditions in the Oman Sea.
