The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued a red alert on Tuesday due to ongoing foggy conditions in the UAE. A red alert signifies that residents must exercise extreme caution as the conditions can become severe. The weather department informed residents about a decline in horizontal visibility, which could further decrease at times in certain coastal and internal areas until 9:30 in the morning.

As the UAE transitions into winter, morning fog has been a recurring issue over the past few days, prompting authorities to lower speed limits for the safety of motorists.

In a post on X, Abu Dhabi Police urged drivers to be cautious due to reduced visibility caused by the fog. Motorists are advised to adhere to the changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards.

Although the NCM had predicted foggy conditions in various parts of the country this morning, the overall weather is expected to be fair with occasional partial cloud cover. Humid conditions are anticipated during the night and will persist into Wednesday morning, with a possibility of fog or mist formation in some coastal and internal areas.

Temperatures are expected to range from a high of 38ºC in the mountains to a low of 17ºC. Humidity levels could reach up to 95% in coastal areas and drop to as low as 15% in the mountains. Light to moderate winds are forecasted to blow across the country.

The sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are expected to be slight.
