The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued a red alert for fog on Monday, warning residents of deteriorating horizontal visibility that could further decrease in certain coastal and inland areas until 9:30 AM.
For the past several days, the UAE has been grappling with morning fog, prompting authorities to lower speed limits for the safety of motorists. In a post on X, Abu Dhabi Police urged drivers to be cautious due to reduced visibility caused by the fog. Motorists are advised to adhere to the changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards.
Similarly, Dubai Police also took to X to encourage drivers to drive carefully due to low visibility caused by fog in various parts of Dubai. Although the NCM had forecast foggy conditions in multiple regions of the country this morning, the overall weather is expected to be fair with occasional partial cloud cover.
Humid conditions are anticipated during the night and will persist into Tuesday morning, with a possibility of fog or mist forming in some coastal and inland areas. Light to moderate winds are expected to blow across the country. The sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are forecast to be slight.
