As a UAE citizen or resident, your Emirates ID is crucial. It serves as your VIP pass in the UAE, linking you to various aspects of life such as banking and mobile services. It's essential for almost every activity in the country, from government transactions to accessing healthcare services. Your Emirates ID also integrates with your health insurance when visiting a doctor or hospital, and is necessary for financial activities like applying for loans or managing bank accounts. Losing your Emirates ID can be distressing, but there's no need to panic. If you suspect it's lost or stolen, follow these steps to regain control:

Immediately report the loss to the nearest ICP Customer Happiness Centre. This urgent action helps deactivate the card, preventing potential identity fraud. The process of replacing your Emirates ID is straightforward and requires only basic documentation. Emiratis should bring their family book and original passport. GCC nationals need proof of UAE residency, such as an employment certificate or business license. UAE residents must present their passport and a copy of their residency permit. Once reported, you can apply for a replacement at any ICP centre or online through the ICP website or app. The cost for replacing a lost or damaged card is Dh300, with additional fees for application and printing.

After applying, monitor your status via text messages from ICP. Typically, you'll receive your new ID within 48 hours, but expedited services at the main ICP centre can deliver it in 24 hours. Once notified, you can collect your new Emirates ID from Emirates Post or opt for home delivery.
