Vesper's Host, a dungeon introduced in Destiny 2's Episode: Revenant, brings back a beloved Exotic weapon from the original Destiny: Ice Breaker. This Exotic Solar sniper rifle was a fan favorite due to its unique ability to generate its own ammunition, making it ideal for dealing massive damage to bosses. The new iteration of Ice Breaker retains similar perks, making it a top choice for boss encounters.

To obtain Ice Breaker, you must venture into the Vesper's Host dungeon, which requires the Final Shape Dungeon Key. If you don't have this key, you can purchase it in-game for 2,000 Silver, equivalent to around $20. The weapon is a random drop from the dungeon's final boss, meaning you may need to replay the dungeon multiple times to secure it.

One guaranteed method to acquire Ice Breaker is by completing Vesper's Host during contest mode, available only within the first 48 hours of the dungeon's release. This mode levels down players to equalize the challenge, making it more difficult but rewarding the Exotic upon completion. If contest mode isn't your style, you might still increase your chances of getting Ice Breaker through Triumphs, similar to other dungeons.

Exotics from new dungeons are typically not farmable, with each character receiving only one chance per week to obtain the weapon. This means that with three characters, you have three weekly opportunities. Additionally, obtaining the Exotic Catalyst, which enhances the weapon, usually involves tackling the dungeon on Master difficulty and completing various puzzles and Triumphs.

Ice Breaker is a Solar sniper rifle that excels in precision boss damage and clearing rooms with its explosive capabilities. Its Exotic perk, No Backpack, allows it to generate its own ammo, reducing the need to pick up additional Special ammo. The intrinsic trait, Ice Breaker, causes an explosion upon killing a target, with enhanced effects from precision hits or shattering frozen enemies.

This makes Ice Breaker a powerful addition to Solar, Stasis, and Prismatic builds, especially when paired with Stasis primary weapons that can freeze enemies, facilitating easy Ignitions to control crowds.
