Rishabh Pant, one of India's premier batters, has declared that he will award Rs100,089 (roughly equivalent to Dh4,300) to a 'fortunate recipient' if Neeraj Chopra secures gold in the Javelin throw at the upcoming Paris Olympics, as stated in a recent post on X. The sum of Rs100,089 is a tribute to Chopra's impressive qualifying throw of 89.34 meters. Pant mentioned that while one individual will receive the cash prize for liking and commenting on the tweet, an additional ten people will be gifted flight tickets to cheer on the Indian athletes competing in the prestigious event in Paris. The cricketer expressed his hope that this gesture will garner support for his 'brother' from both within and outside India.

India's celebrated javelin thrower, Neeraj Chopra, cemented his status as a frontrunner with a remarkable performance on Tuesday, initiating his defense of the Olympic title with a throw of 89.34 meters in the qualification round. Chopra, who brought home India's inaugural athletics gold three years prior, appears poised to add to his collection with the longest throw of the day and his personal best for the season. 'It was a strong throw. Possibly the most significant one I've had in a qualifying round. All the competitors seem to be in excellent form,' he commented.

'I recognize that I haven't yet reached my pinnacle. I'm not technically or in terms of distance where I aim to be, so I'm eager to enhance my performance and throw even further. I also aspire to set a precedent for other Indian athletes, enabling us to compete at the highest level,' Chopra added. (With contributions from Reuters)
