Heritage Italian shipyard Riva has unveiled plans for a new 70-metre flagship currently in development at its Ancona facilities. Scheduled for launch in 2028, this innovative project will be designed by Officina Italiana Design and will feature a hybrid propulsion system. This system will enable the yacht to operate in zero-emission mode while at anchor and in 'silent mode' during cruising. Constructed from steel and aluminium, the full-displacement yacht will also benefit from an enhanced hull design, which promises improved seakeeping capabilities.

The details of this exciting project were disclosed by Riva’s parent company, Ferretti Group, during a press conference at the Monaco Yacht Show. Additionally, the shipyard provided updates on its current flagship series, the 54-metre Metri. The first hull of this series is set to launch in 2025, with the second and third hulls following in 2026 and 2027, respectively.
