The Riyadh Metro is gearing up for its inaugural run with the first phase scheduled to commence on November 27. This ambitious project, touted as the world's longest driverless metro system, will see the unveiling of the first three routes this Wednesday, as announced by Riyadh Metro on X. The metro network will ultimately comprise six routes, covering a total distance of 176km and encompassing 84 stations. According to media reports, the remaining three routes are slated to become operational in mid-December, marking the second phase of the project. Valued at approximately $22.5 billion, the Riyadh Metro will feature the Blue Line, Red Line, Orange Line, Yellow Line, Green Line, and the Purple Line. Upon completion, it will be the second metro system in the Kingdom, following the metro line dedicated to Haj pilgrims in Makkah, which opened in November 2010.
