Approximately 60 rockets were launched from Lebanon into Israel on Friday, as reported by AFP, citing a statement from the army.

In response, Israel declared that it had targeted Lebanon's Hezbollah, just hours after the group's leader had vowed to retaliate for deadly explosions that had damaged their communication devices, resulting in 37 fatalities and thousands of injuries.

Hezbollah accused Israel of being responsible for the explosion of thousands of its operatives' pagers and radios over a two-day period this week. Israel has not yet provided any comment on these attacks.

For the first time since the fatal device sabotage, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah pledged on Thursday that Israel would face retribution. The device blasts and Thursday's air strikes occurred after Israel announced a shift in its war objectives to its northern border with Lebanon, where it has been engaged in exchanges of fire with Hezbollah.
