Rocker Rod Stewart is set to headline the legends slot at Glastonbury 2025, marking the first confirmed act for next year's edition of the iconic British music festival. His Sunday afternoon performance will be a momentous return for the 79-year-old singer, who last graced the festival's Pyramid stage in 2002. “I’m thrilled and eager to entertain my fans at Glastonbury in June,” Stewart expressed in a statement. A legendary figure in the music industry, Stewart follows in the footsteps of Lionel Richie, Diana Ross, and Shania Twain, who played the legends slot last year.

Despite announcing plans to halt large-scale world tours earlier this month, Stewart emphasized his commitment to continue performing. “I have no intention of retiring. I am passionate about my work, and I do what I love. I’m in good health, still have a full head of hair, and can sprint 100 meters in 18 seconds at the ripe age of 79,” Stewart shared on Instagram. Known for his 1970s hits like Maggie May, Sailing, and Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?, Stewart recently released his latest album, Swing Fever, a collaboration with pianist Jools Holland, which topped the UK albums chart.

The Glastonbury festival, initiated by dairy farmer Michael Eavis in 1970, has evolved into a sprawling, often muddy, five-day event in June, featuring some of the biggest names in music for tens of thousands of attendees. Next year's edition is scheduled from June 25-29.
