Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has concluded preventive maintenance on 14 significant roads and 9 crucial intersections across various parts of Dubai in the third quarter of 2024. The maintenance initiatives, based on road categorizations, encompassed highways, freeways, arterial roads, and internal roads in six residential zones and one commercial zone. Preventive maintenance activities executed during the third quarter of 2024 concentrated on several major streets in Dubai, including Dubai-Al Ain Road, Jebel Ali-Lehbab Road, Ras Al Khor Road, Al Rebat Street, Khalifa Bin Zayed Street, Al Ittihad Street, Abu Bakr Al Siddiq Street, Omar Bin Al Khattab Street, Al Musalla Street, Al Satwa Street, Khalid Bin Al Waleed Street, Al Marabea' Street, and Zabeel 1 Street.

Hussain Al Banna, CEO of the Traffic and Roads Agency at RTA, remarked on these endeavors: "RTA prioritizes the sustainability of Dubai’s infrastructure and the safety of all road users, which remains our foremost commitment. As part of these efforts, preventive maintenance involved renewing pavement layers based on road conditions, repairing damage caused by natural elements, and repaving damaged asphalt and tile sections in affected areas." Al Banna underscored RTA’s dedication to comprehensive maintenance efforts covering all main roads and their facilities, noting that these efforts align with Dubai’s urban expansion and development with the aim of enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors to Dubai.

He further added: "RTA employs the latest smart technologies in maintenance works to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety. This facilitates precise monitoring of the operational condition of road facilities, predicting the lifespan of roads, and determining the necessary actions to maintain operational efficiency and structural integrity throughout their service life. Additionally, during maintenance works, RTA adheres to the highest standards of road user safety and smooth traffic flow, aiming to minimize congestion and vehicle density during this period."
