The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has unveiled a comprehensive scholarship program for 15 students born on 9/9/2009, coinciding with the 15th anniversary of the Dubai Metro, which will be celebrated tomorrow. This integrated scholarship initiative aligns with the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and embodies the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to cultivate the nation's human capital.

The scholarship program is structured across three distinct phases. The initial phase, extending over two years of schooling, includes practical training sessions at RTA during summer and winter breaks, participation in railway-focused training programs with key partners, and visits to railway project sites. The second phase spans the university years, lasting four to five years, during which students receive scholarships to pursue a specialized bachelor's degree in railway engineering. This phase also incorporates training at RTA during breaks, involvement in leadership forums and major RTA events, and site visits to railway projects.

In the final phase, graduates will be recruited by the Rail Agency and enrolled in RTA's Fast Track Program for engineers, aimed at refining their technical and administrative skills over two years. This program offers rapid career progression opportunities, positioning them as the future specialists at RTA. Additionally, participants will earn accredited professional certifications in Project Management and Value Engineering, along with various technical and specialized training modules.

On this occasion, Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), emphasized the RTA's commitment to nurturing promising Emirati talent in line with Dubai's vision for the future of the roads and transport sector. He underscored the initiative's role in solidifying Dubai's position as a leader in delivering sustainable, forward-thinking mobility solutions for the region.

RTA remains dedicated to cultivating and empowering Emirati talent. By fostering a supportive environment, we are equipping a new generation of leaders with the ability to foresee future challenges and devise innovative solutions to propel Dubai's advancement. This endeavor will contribute to the ongoing and future growth and development of RTA.

Recently, RTA introduced the 'Professional Engineering Career Path' initiative, the first of its kind in the UAE, which provides a career trajectory for specialized engineering roles in line with market needs, enhancing job security for engineers. Furthermore, the 'Fast Track' initiative was launched to attract top Emirati engineering graduates with exceptional academic records and prepare them technically and administratively to become the next generation of specialists at RTA.
