New Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim expressed his readiness for the challenge ahead as he prepares to move from Portugal to England. The Premier League club confirmed Amorim's appointment earlier this month, with the 39-year-old Portuguese manager set to join from Sporting CP on Monday, signing a contract until June 2027. Amorim, who takes over from the dismissed Erik ten Hag, concluded his tenure at Sporting with a thrilling 4-2 comeback victory against Braga on Sunday.

"I feel prepared for the new challenge," Amorim told reporters post-match. "I am not underestimating the difficulty; I know it will be very different and challenging. I am at peace now, ready to focus on my new role, and eager to begin tomorrow." Recognized as one of Europe's most promising young managers, Amorim's first game will be on November 24 against promoted Ipswich Town in the Premier League. United currently stand 13th in the league with 15 points from 11 matches, trailing Chelsea by four points in third place. Interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has led the team to three wins and a draw across all competitions since Ten Hag's dismissal on October 28.

"I understand it will be tough to replicate what I have achieved here elsewhere, but there are different levels of exposure and pressure in other places... It has been an incredible journey," said Amorim, who has secured the Primeira Liga title twice with Sporting. "I apologize for this mid-season decision, but I felt it was the right time and the right path for me."
