Saim Ayub delivered a blistering century as Pakistan swiftly achieved a modest target to defeat Zimbabwe by 10 wickets at Queens Sports Club on Tuesday, leveling the three-match one-day international series. Pakistan required just 18.2 overs to reach 148-0 and secure victory after Zimbabwe, who won the toss and opted to bat, were bowled out for 145 in 32.3 overs. Spinner Abrar Ahmed claimed 4-33 and Salman Ali Agha took 3-26 before Saim took charge of the home bowling in response, guiding Pakistan to a comfortable win. The 22-year-old reached his maiden ODI century in 53 balls, smashing the ball to all parts of the ground and finishing unbeaten on 113. His opening partner, Abdullah Shafique, played a supporting role, scoring 32 not out. This confident batting performance contrasted sharply with Pakistan’s subdued display in Sunday’s opening match, where Zimbabwe won by 80 runs via the DLS method after rain curtailed play early. The third and final ODI is scheduled for Thursday, also in Bulawayo, followed by a three-match Twenty20 series between the two countries.
