Salik boards, the UAE's road toll operator, have been installed in multiple locations both inside and outside the Dubai Mall, just a day before the commencement of paid parking for visitors. The distinctive grey and white Salik branding is prominently displayed at all parking entry points, although no physical barriers or cameras are evident in the parking zones.
Effective July 1, Dubai Mall will initiate paid parking in collaboration with Salik Company, affecting the Grand, Cinema, and Fashion Parking areas. Meanwhile, the Zabeel and Fountain View parkings will continue to offer free parking for now. Inside the mall, informational signs detailing the paid parking rates have been posted near several elevators. The parking facility will be complimentary for four hours on weekdays and six hours on weekends, with subsequent hourly charges ranging from Dh20 to Dh1000 for stays exceeding 24 hours.
As per the operational guidelines, fees will be automatically deducted from a vehicle's Salik account upon exiting the parking area. Access to the Dubai Mall parking requires a Salik tag; however, it remains uncertain how non-tagged vehicles will be managed. On Sunday evening, security personnel were stationed at all parking entrances, directing and redirecting traffic as needed.
