An official stated that the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into Samsung's premium devices has notably increased the South Korean tech giant's sales in this category. Fadi Abu Shamat, Senior Director and Head of Mobile eXperience Division at Samsung Gulf Electronics, revealed to Khaleej Times on the margins of Samsung's recent Galaxy Creators’ Day in Dubai that pre-orders for the Galaxy Fold 6 have surged by 30 percent compared to last year. He highlighted that the flip model has been the standout performer this year.
Samsung initiated the incorporation of AI into its flagship products earlier this year, starting with the S24 Series, which was followed by the Flip and Fold series in the subsequent months. The latest additions include the new foldable devices, along with the Galaxy Watch7, Galaxy Watch Ultra, and Galaxy Buds3. Abu Shamat emphasized that Galaxy AI has provided a fresh impetus for viewing foldable devices as innovative creative and productivity tools.
The event showcased various prominent content creators from fields like tech, fashion, travel, and wellness, who discussed their experiences with the new Galaxy devices. They explored how these devices enhance their distinct workflows, demonstrating the comprehensive tools designed to support contemporary storytellers. Building on the earlier success of Galaxy AI, Samsung is expanding the frontiers of mobile AI with its flexible foldable devices, leveraging unique form factors to deliver innovative AI-powered experiences.
Samsung anticipates that content creators will be a significant segment of its customer base, particularly given the UAE's recognition of the creative economy as a key element of its diversification strategy. The Dubai Creative Economy Strategy targets a five percent contribution to the country's GDP by 2025. Shafi Alam, Director - Head of D2C Biz & Corporate Marketing at Samsung Gulf, noted that the UAE attracts many content creators, and ease of content creation with speed and efficiency is a priority. He believes Samsung is at the forefront of making content creation effortless with Galaxy devices, aiming to democratize these tools and accelerate content creation, positioning itself as a central support for creators in the long term.
