Sarah Michelle Gellar has ignited rumors of a feud with her former co-star Jennifer Love Hewitt after her awkward response to a question about the actress went viral on social media. The pair previously starred together in the 1997 film “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” but they haven’t worked together since. The success of the hit film led to two sequels, with another currently being filmed in Australia. Although Gellar isn’t part of the upcoming installment, her husband, Freddie Prinze Jr., is, prompting the couple and their two children to spend Thanksgiving in Australia.

When asked if she could share any details about the new project, given her husband’s involvement, Gellar appeared to sidestep the question. “I have nothing to do with that,” she told Extra TV during a red carpet interview when asked if Love Hewitt, 45, is starring in the film. The 47-year-old actress then quickly walked away from the reporter, bringing the interview to an abrupt end. Despite the brief interaction, social media users were quick to speculate about a potential feud.

“Look at her face!! She hates her so bad! sksksksk,” one person wrote on X, while another commented, “Oh wow! I felt that coldness!” A third added, “Omg that face she did was so sassy lmao is there beef between them,” with another agreeing, “The facial expression is everything 😭😭.” The Post has contacted representatives for Gellar and Love Hewitt for comment.

In the original film, Gellar’s character, Helen Shivers, was killed off, which explains her absence from the sequels. In 2014, during an interview on Australia’s “Morning Show,” Gellar was asked about her former co-star. When the hosts mentioned Love Hewitt’s name, Gellar jokingly responded, “I know what your boobs did last summer — cause whenever you see that movie, it’s just a lot of cleavage.” She added, “I haven’t seen her in a long time,” and explained, “LA is so segregated that unless you sort of live in the same area and your kids are sort of in the same — you don’t run into people in the same way.”
