The Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia has dismantled a criminal network specializing in drug smuggling through Al Jawf International Airport. Based on credible intelligence, authorities managed to apprehend several individuals connected to the illicit operation. Nine Saudi citizens, including one from the Ministry of Interior, four from the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, and one from the Saudi Electricity Company, were arrested. These individuals played various criminal roles, such as receiving the smuggled drugs, introducing them into the Kingdom via unchecked luggage, and transporting them. They also hid the narcotics in different locations and homes, and engaged in promoting and trading the drugs. The Ministry of Interior emphasized that authorities will take action against anyone attempting to jeopardize the country's security and stability, as well as the safety of its citizens and residents, regardless of their status. The ministry remains steadfast in its efforts to thwart all criminal schemes targeting national security.
