The second Amels 80 has reached Damen Yachting's facilities in Vlissingen, the Netherlands, to commence outfitting works. Damen Yachting reports that the superyacht arrived two weeks earlier than planned, having left the shipyard's facilities in Galati, Romania, earlier this month (5 August). Delivery to the experienced owner is slated for May 2026.
Construction of the second hull started on speculation, with the yacht being sold to a buyer in December 2022. The Amels 80 stands as the flagship of the builder's renowned Limited Editions series. The exterior design is credited to Espen Øino, while the 'elegant' interiors of the second hull are designed by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design. The naval architecture, provided by Damen Yachting, incorporates 'Hybrid by Amels' technology, enabling comfortable cruising at up to seven knots with reduced emissions, noise, and vibrations.
The model boasts several distinctive features, including a 200-square-metre sundeck, a dedicated owner's deck, and a waterfront beach club with unfolding sea terraces. With a volume of 2175GT, the yacht offers accommodation for up to 14 guests and 21 crew, along with ample storage for toys and tenders, including a foredeck helicopter landing area.
Jan van Hogerwou, commercial executive at Damen Yachting, expressed his honor in being entrusted with the project. He stated, 'It is our mission to get this adventurous young family out on the water, exploring and discovering the world’s oceans while free-diving, spearfishing, scuba diving, and sharing these experiences with family and friends inside all of the comforts possible aboard the new Amels 80.'
Damen Yachting made headlines last month with the launch of the sixth Amels 60. Commissioned by a European owner, the unit is easily recognizable due to its striking blue hull.
