In a significant security lapse, an individual managed to breach the security perimeter and enter the sets of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in Mumbai. According to the Mumbai Police, Khan was in the midst of filming a project in Dadar West when a fan attempted to observe the shoot. However, when security personnel intervened to escort the fan away, a physical altercation ensued. In a fit of rage, the intruder invoked the name of Lawrence Bishnoi, prompting the guards to summon the police, who subsequently took the man into custody. The individual in question is a resident of Mumbai.
This incident comes on the heels of another security-related event involving Khan. On October 24, Mumbai Police apprehended a man from Jamshedpur who had issued threats against the actor in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, demanding a ransom of Rs50 million (Dh2.1 million). The Mumbai Police had registered a case against an unidentified individual and initiated an investigation after receiving a threatening message through the Mumbai Traffic Police.
Interestingly, on October 21, the same individual who had threatened Khan on October 18 issued an apology, claiming that the threatening message was sent by mistake. The initial threat was communicated to the control room of the Mumbai Traffic Police on October 18.
Khan has been under heightened security for some time, particularly since a shooting incident occurred outside his residence in April of this year. The incident, which took place on April 14 at his residence in the Bandra area of Mumbai, led to subsequent arrests that revealed links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Consequently, the Mumbai Police invoked the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against all those implicated in the shooting.
Prior investigations indicated that gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's brother, Anmol Vishnoi, played a pivotal role in orchestrating the attack. After receiving a delivery of weapons in Panvel on March 15, 2024, Anmol provided the assailants with detailed information about Khan's residence, instructing them to carry out the shooting. The attack was executed as planned, with the shooters receiving a total of Rs300,000 for their efforts.
