Sega has announced that it will be removing several of its classic games from digital stores on December 6 at 11:59 PM PST / December 7 2:59 AM ET. The games set to be delisted include Jet Set Radio, Golden Axe, and Phantasy Star II, among others. Players who have already purchased these titles will still be able to play them, and some individual games will remain accessible for those subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online. Sega has not provided a specific reason for these delistings, nor has it detailed which titles will still be available to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers post-delisting.

Sega is currently in the process of developing new entries for five of its classic franchises, including Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, and Crazy Taxi. While details are scarce, Sega confirmed earlier this year that the new Crazy Taxi will feature an open world and include multiplayer elements. Additionally, Sega recently revealed that it is working on a new Virtua Fighter game.
