Abu Dhabi residents now have the convenience of managing and accessing all their healthcare services through a dedicated app. The city's Department of Health has introduced the 'Sehatona' mobile application, which functions as a comprehensive and integrated platform. This app enables users to efficiently handle their health-related matters by providing easy access to a variety of healthcare services.
With Sehatona, users can schedule and manage appointments, opting to interact with healthcare providers either in person or through remote consultations. The app also allows users to oversee their own health as well as that of their family members. To access medical records, users can utilize the Malaffi platform, which grants them access to test results, medication histories, and vaccination records. This platform is also linked to the medical files of family members.
Furthermore, participants in the Emirates Genome Programme will be able to view their genomic reports for the first time via the app. This feature empowers users to make informed health and lifestyle decisions based on their genetic information. The launch of the app was announced during Gitex Global 2024.
Key features of the app include an AI-powered symptom checker, which allows users to input their symptoms and receive potential condition identifications along with guidance on the appropriate course of action, whether it be a visit to the emergency room or an urgent care center. Additionally, the app supports smartwatch connectivity, enhancing the user experience by tracking sleep patterns and step counts.
The app also offers personalized health goal recommendations based on the user's activity and movement history, encouraging a healthier lifestyle. The Department of Health plans to introduce more advanced features soon, including an AI-driven model for maintaining a healthy body and easy access to primary healthcare services and the comprehensive periodic examination programme 'Efhes'. There will also be enhancements to the patient assistance system, leveraging artificial intelligence to simplify navigation and provide answers to user queries.
