An earthquake of significant magnitude struck South Iran on Thursday, May 23, according to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM). The seismic event occurred at 9:07pm local time and had a depth of 10km. Despite this, residents in the UAE did not experience any tremors as a result of the earthquake in the neighboring country.
Last year in October, UAE residents were able to perceive tremors caused by multiple earthquakes in the southern part of Iran. On October 17, 2023, at 8:59am UAE time, a 5.5 magnitude earthquake shook South Iran, followed by a second quake at 9:10am.
