Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan contributed to Kamal Haasan's film Hey Ram without any compensation. At the trailer release of the forthcoming movie Indian 2, Haasan reminisced about collaborating with Khan on Hey Ram, a film that debuted in 2000. Haasan stated, 'Indeed, Shah Rukh Sahib did that film gratis.' He added, 'Such an act is uncommon for a superstar; it reflects a genuine cinema enthusiast, an admirer of art, and a skilled actor. I remain deeply grateful to him.' Hey Ram, which Haasan wrote, directed, and produced, also featured him as the lead actor. The film explores the theme of India's Partition and the murder of Mahatma Gandhi.
