More than 170,000 smart water meters have been deployed across different parts of Sharjah City. These installations are integral to Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority's digital transformation strategy, aimed at delivering superior services to residents of the emirate. Smart meters offer enhanced precision compared to conventional meters in tracking water usage. They can notify customers of any leaks or unusual water consumption patterns, thereby reducing water wastage and promoting water resource conservation. The authority's decision to replace mechanical meters aligns with the vision of Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, who advocates for advanced infrastructure, digital transformation, and the adoption of smart systems across the emirate.
