University and college students in the UAE can now apply for part-time jobs at Sharjah Islamic Bank (SIB). On Monday, the bank launched a new part-time employment program exclusively for Emirati students, enabling them to work in various departments and branches. This initiative is designed to attract and develop local talent.

The program offers several advantages to students and recent graduates, including flexible working hours of four hours per day, a monthly salary, annual leave, and study leave during exam periods. Health insurance is also included as part of the employment package. By participating in this program, students can gain valuable hands-on experience and practical skills that will enhance their future job prospects. The program also addresses the increasing demand for flexible job opportunities that allow students to balance their academic responsibilities with professional growth.

The initiative was unveiled at the University of Sharjah, with officials from SIB, the Human Resources Department, and representatives from the University of Sharjah's campuses in Sharjah, Khor Fakkan, and Al Dhaid, as well as from Higher Colleges of Technology, the American University of Sharjah, Sharjah Maritime Academy (SMA), and Skyline University College in attendance. Hassan Al Balghouni, head of corporate communications at Sharjah Islamic Bank, emphasized that the initiative aims to establish Sharjah as a leading destination for career development and to support the next generation of professionals in the financial and banking sectors.

The Shariah-compliant bank's net profits after tax increased by 14.5 percent to Dh566.2 million during the January-June 2024 period. Its assets grew to Dh74.2 billion as of June 30, 2024.
