Sharjah's Dibba Al Hisn Corniche Road will be temporarily closed in both directions on Saturday for UAE National Day celebrations, the emirate's police announced on Friday.
The section of the road from the Diwan Al Amiri square to the heritage village square will not be accessible from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, according to the police statement. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes during this period.
Earlier on Friday, local authorities confirmed that government employees in Sharjah will enjoy a five-day weekend in celebration of the upcoming UAE National Day. They will receive paid holidays on December 2 and 3, which fall on Monday and Tuesday, with regular operations set to resume on December 4, Wednesday, according to the emirate's human resources department.
